12 Years ago the Kyuubi (Nine tails demon fox) attacked the Leaf Village, and they would have been destoyed if it wasn't for the 4th Hokage who sealed the soul of the Kyubi into a newborn baby, that baby was Naruto. The 4th wanted the village to consider Naruto a hero, but the village never believed that and called him a monster. At first Naruto didn't know why everyone hated him seeing as telling him was strickly forbidden or telling anyone else as a matter as well. He began to do practical jokes to get attention since he had no family of his own, but the villagers still treated him like a monster. Mizuki finally told Naruto the secret of what he had inside of him and the same night met someone who aknowledges him for who he is, Iruka.
Naruto tries desperately to become Hokage one day because then the whole village who accept him and admire him. He isn't the brightest of all the shinobi's but his desire and passion help him even beat the strongest of foes. Over the time of the series he has begun to met more people who aknowledge him and now he has went on the tutelage of Jiraiya, the pervert sennin who now must protect him for the clutches of Akusuki who want the demon inside of Naruto.
Uchiha Sasuke

One of the survivors of the Uchiha Clan he has sworn an oath to become strong enough so he can kill the one person who destroyed his clan, his own brother, Itachi. He looked up to Itachi and looked to him for guidance. Sasuke graduated at the top of the class and is often called a genius. He is very arrogant and can't acknowledge anyone to be strongier than him since that would go against his oath to becoming strong. He also been often compared to a young Kakashi and that's why Kakashi is best suited to train him and teachs him such moves as the chidori.
No matter what Sasuke craves power, power enough to kill his brother at any means necessary. When Orochimaru bit him on the neck in the Forest of Death giving him the Curse Seal he began to slip into darkness and become more like Orochimaru's slave. Also when he saw Naruto surpass him in strength this irrated Sasuke, and he decided to leave the village and his comrades to go to Orochimaru who promised to give him power. Oro wants Sasuke's body due to the sharigan so he can copy all the jutsu's in the world, but Sasuke doesn't care since he just wants to complete his goal and doesn't care what happens to him or his former comrades. He has slipped into his own darkness and only Naruto can pull him out of it
Uchiha Itachi

The master and heir of the Uchiha Clan, he was a succesful ninja that had the abilities and skill to be the true succesor to the clan. He was their pride and joy and a true inspiration to the clan. However, with all this attention he was always strange even when he was growing up and mostly an introvert who keeped to himself. Itachi has mastered the 3 bloodline techniques that are named after Japanese folklore gods and goddesses, they are extremely powerful and extremely lethal.
At the age of 13-14 during the night he supposedly killed all the members of the Uchiha Clan, he told Sasuke he did it as a measuring stick to test his real strength and to actually break the limits the clan has on a person. He even killed his best-friend so he could reach a new level of sharingan which only a select few can have. He left the village shortly after and joined the mysterious Akatsuki Organization which is all S-Rank criminals and he and his partner Kisaime were sent out to capture Naruto and bring him back to their heigher ups. Itachi is still truely a mystery
Haruno Sakura

A smart ninja who has perfect chakra control, which is above most shinobi’s, but she has no real unique jutsu's. When Sakura was younger, she was picked on a lot in her classes because of her big forehead. Ino then came along, befriended her and gave her a ribbon to make it all better. She said the only reason they are making fun of you is because you hide it. She also told Sakura that one-day you will bloom into a beautiful flower. Then their friendship abruptly ended once Sakura decided that she, like Ino, was also in love with Sasuke. They compete together to fight over his attention and she calls Ino “Ino-Pig” now. Sakura is on the three-man team with Naruto and of course Sasuke her dream man who at first liked him because of his looks now loves him for who he is.
She has an unhealthy obsession with Sasuke who ignores her, while Naruto and Lee have an unhealthy obsession with her and she ignores them both. The only thing that Sakura seems to be good at aside from intelligence is tree climbing because she was able to master focusing the chakra in her body in a matter of seconds while it took both Sasuke and Naruto all night to learn how. She has perfect chakra control way more advanced than her other teammates. Kakashi during the Chuunin Exam later taught Sakura genjutsu and by doing this she could counter Kabuto’s sleeping jutsu and was sent on a mission by Kakashi to get Sasuke back. Sakura grows tired of everyone protecting her and looking after her and, mainly, is sick of seeing everyone’s backs. She would like to be able to show off every once and a while.
Hatake Kakashi

Abilities: Master of over 1000 jutsu's
Kakashi is the number one Leaf tactionary, who is a genius not by everyone in the village as well as different countries. He graduated the Academy at 5 and became a Chuunin at 6. When Kakashi was a genin he was taught by the genius 4th Hokage. Unfortunately, everyone who has been close to Kakashi has died or been killed. Such as his teacher and his best-friend Obito who he feels guilty for his death. Kakashi is always late and the reason is he always goes to Obito’s grave. Kakashi was part of the Anbu who performed many assassinations. In his teenage years, Kakashi somehow got a hold of a Sharingan from the Uchiha clan and placed it in his own eye. However, he can’t shut it off or use any bloodline limits with it, but since he was a genius he could still copy jutsus and got the name “Copy Ninja Kakashi”.
Kakashi as copied over 1000 jutsus, but has only one original jutsu that he created, the Chidori. The Chidori is used for assassinations and rumor has it even cut a lighting bolt and that’s where it got the nickname “lightening edge”. The chidori isn’t an electrical jutsu it is in fact Kakashi’s chakra that has been molded so he can penetrate thick surfaces. For his years as a teacher, Kakashi had never passed a single student because none of them were able to look underneath the underneath like he wanted to. However, somehow, Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke got the idea and Kakashi finally had to do something with his life. Kakashi is also rivals with Gai, though Gai is much more enthusiastic about it. They compete over silly things like Rock, Paper, Scissors and their rivalry scorecard currently stands at 49 to 50, in favor of Gai.
